A really enjoyable post to read! Especially to me since I hail from Europe (Holland actually, I've never been to Germany). My Dad served in Germany for a while when he was a young man after the war. I believe he was on a ship. Anyway, back to your...

Steven, good stuff. Yes me too, I'd rather be around family. It is actually how I (my husband too) ended up back in Puyallup. Had a good paying job up north and involved in ministry - but no access to family. It is good to have that connection. Go...

Don't know what to make of this. Another person from Guideposts emailed me and said basically they like the story, want to cut it down significantly, sit on it & eventually publish it in their kids edition. They made no commitment about a date tho...

It is a wondeful story and like Yvonne said, you can submit it somewhere else. I believe it will get published when the time is right.

Well, there is still hope for the future, and I do pray that you will seek the Lord about the pics to send in to them. I am sure if they saw the pictures as well, it might press them more to get it published. Don't get too discouraged, because you...

Go, Steve, go! Go, Yvonne, go! Go, Eric, go! Go, Pat go! Go, Sandy, go! You get the picture. THis is going to happen to each and every person in our workshops. I haven't never been more certain of anything in my life (except God's love)!

Family

Many moons ago I lived in Germany. I lived in a little German village, had a German landlord, and shopped on the German economy. For the most part, I loved it. Even though I was an American, I loved Germany & really connected with the culture. I especially enjoyed thumbing around & exploring differnet parts of my little slice of West Germany.

On Labor Day weekend, 1983, I took off from my job at the local Ammo Dump & hitchhiked NorthWest toward the Belgium Border. My goal was to eve… Continue

Update from Guideposts

Received an email from a Copy Chief at Guideposts about the story they were interested in "Angel in a Car Wreck". Although they are/were interested in the story, they said they are putting it in archives for now as they are not looking for any new stories at this point. They also wanted pics of the car accident, unfortunately I haven't been able to find them as this was 9 years ago.

All I can say is WOW!!!

I've written many short stories, and they are all mostly still sitting on the hard drive of my computer or on my website, ocasionally passed along to friends through email. It wasn't until I attended my first "Writer's Edge" class though, that I was able to have my story about my son's angelic visitation critiqued. And thanks to Kris, who professionaly edited the piece, I felt confident to send it to Guidepost Magazine.

Actually, I really thought it would take several months to hear from them,… Continue

Balance

This is a song I wrote that I never got in digital format. Hope you like it!

They say it takes a balance
To get through life these days
Live a little, cry a little
Grow a little & die a little

I think about a lot
As I go through my day
There's people that are full of love
& some are full of hate

And somewhere in the middle
I often find myself
Trying hard to love, and
Trying not to doubt

The goodness of my God
As I often think about HIm

Ohhh.., but life gets in the way

The secret to… Continue

On Theology & Unbelief

On theology & unbelief

Although it often difficult for me, I sometimes tune in to liberal talk radio to hear some of the arguments & philosphies of life & religion from those that would discredit Christianity. Sometimes their talk is superficial, reflecting only a base understanding of Christ & his teachings. Often though I am compelled by some of their talk. Today was such a day.

I was trying to find something interesting to take the edge off the commute home, so I turned on t… Continue
