It's like staring death in the eye, but it's ok because it's only death to self--"I must decrease..." Marvelous. :-)

Sandy, your two manuscripts that you read yesterday were above par!!!! I don't know when I have enjoyed such artistic thought -- very mind provoking!! Can't wait to hear them in song!

Awesome! Bravo! Standing Ovation! It reads like a song to me. I really liked, "If you’re thinking one of us will win, you’re believing in a lie. Cause none of us gets out of here alive." Wow, talk about dead man walking, and no one wins.

Curious. It makes me feel somethings as I am reading and I like that. Not the feelings it evokes, but that it evokes feeling. True "none of us gets out of here alive" so my question always seems to be smoking or non?

Poem dedicated to those not yet walking on water...

Hiding

The stone had left my hand before I’d known that it was there.
At your honest confrontation
Proud and angry reflex sent it flying in the air
And now I’m hiding.

The place where it had landed must have been a tender spot,
For the stone that you threw back at me
Was as fiery as it was hot
And now I’m hiding.

I’m trying to find the place where peace can thrive;
Where hearts can breathe forgiveness,
Freed from the hurt inside.
If you’re thinking one of us will win, you’re believing in a li… Continue

Writing Assignment: God's Creation

Had a fabulous time with y'all at Antique Sandwich Co.! This was a fun exercise--thanks Yvonne!

A Moment in Creation:

The wind picked up;
A thing manifested suddenly.
It was not, and then
It was;
Coming through the window
And looking out of it I could see
Flurries of blossom petals
Now liberated, now swirling.

Wind is now stronger.
Spring is suddenly dispersed
Into Summer.
The last page of a completed chapter
Has blown over, has turned,
As the heavens sigh over this city.

Flight vs the Inescapable

Recently I have found that I enjoy putting words to my dreams. Not exactly sure what God was trying to talk to be about in the dream that inspired the poem below, but I have a pretty good idea. I am more interested in what, if anything, God might be telling someone else through this poem; maybe something about fear of confronting a Holy Spirit conviction, fleeing a spirit of condemnation, or something completely different. Anyway, I hope it is somehow edifying, or at least enjoyable. Blessings!… Continue

(first poem in forever---be merciful my friends!)

Dove

On a dreamscape,
Nighttime eyes unveiled.
A living portrait
A hidden fresco
Painted by the Father
Breathes
Within the heart of me.

Across fluid sky
Pearl wings ascend.
A sign and a wonder,
A single dove
Called by her Father
Soars
Within the heart of me.

Upon high bough
Snares beneath abandoned,
Purchase safe found.
A freedom song
In honor of the Father
Sings
Within the heart of me.

To heavens above
Her uncommon strains rise.
Longing sweet, a sigh,
Plea unanswered,
Waiting upon her Fathe… Continue

Forever-for GENERATIONS!

I once had what I’d felt to be a brilliant idea for a book, but it’s based on a concept that I no longer embrace, so if it is ever penned, it won’t be by this hand. This idea occurred to me during the years that I’d felt that Jesus was irreconcilably angry with me for having “killed” Him, and I had all but tossed Baby Jesus out with the religious bathwater. Also, New Age philosophies were huge at that time, and I found crystals to be super pretty. (Although, I have to say, the music was mind-num… Continue

Sandra,
The picture that is posted as your icon, who painted it? It is very stiking, catches me off guard in a good way each time I see it. Something like an Escher thing.

My influence was my mother when she introduce me to Walt Disney and I began to draw at the age of seven. It wasn't till three years later that I had contact with Disney's Art teachers at my folks home. They wanted me to go to school for them but I was to young and I had to wait till I was fourteen but the big stopper was money for my parents, because we had a big family. That was a little discouraging for me but I didn't stop drawing. Art has always been a part of my life. Most of my art work I have given away to others. I have done murals in Germany on my army kazerne or post gymnasium. They could be still there by chance, but they have some good subliminal work done in them. I haven't done a painting in awhile, because my time is wrapped up in my movie sets. I am doing them for money, for my daughter who is in gymnastics and because there are fun also. One these days I will do one. Well Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family.

Miss Sandra, you have to tell me what you call your piece of art. Looking at it I'm trying to remember the artist and style that you favor in your work. In school I leaned toward realism or abstract at times. I haven't done anything of my own in awhile. Right now I am doing "Movie sets" of my own and having fun. At this time I am doing a scene of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. When I feel better I'll get back on it. When I get done with it I'll put a photo of it on site.

Hey, I like the painting and it looks a little like you too. The peace you wrote is what I am working on for he past month. I have a old friend in the Lord that was saved with me when I was a catholic but I moved on in a different direction and she is still in the same spot. I am walking slowly because it's been a long time since I have talked to her. She lives in Nebraska and it's been twenty some years since we've talked to one another. Both of her parents died and she took care of them. They were both in our prayer group and I found out about them in my high school news letter. So I had to get in contact with her, back home, to see how she was doing spiritually and emotionally . Its been hard to reach her from time to time, but it's a slow process.
