Carmen - we hear people say often that us believers are a representation of Christ, you know Jesus with skin, I hadn't thought about animals, I like your comment of "Love, with fur on".

I've been thinking about God's wisdom in giving us pets. I love animals, especially cats. I believe that they are God's special gift to us. Love, with fur on!! Always there, always longing for our attention, always ministering to us in some way. L...

Here is the latest of things I am working on/wrestling with. What do you think about the statement: confidence in Christ, not arrogance in self?

Lynn, I agree. I too have this sense of urgency about me when it comes to the gospel and our freedom to come together in a congregational corporate expression of faith. Not much longer and we will be constrained. Great article for thought and pray...

Congratulations Eric, how awesome is that. Remember every journey starts with a few steps, clique' I suppose, but truth none the less.

Oh, Jean, how often that has happened to all of us. It takes the Holy Spirit to know when we are to be a good Samaritan and when the Lord says, "Not this time." We are going to be seeing more and more of this as this recession continues. I know yo...

Devotions and the Cat

Here I am, as I am each morning sitting on the left hand side of the recliner couch with my coffee cup filled. It is freshly brewed Cutters Point coffee of course, Fisherman’s Blend. My bible is open and I am reading over the prayer requests that the ladies filled out on Friday. This is my favorite time of day. Whinny, the long haired brown-black cat is looking at me. More like staring intently. Usually I am petting her by now and so she is waiting on me for that. My hands and thoughts are elsew… Continue

Praying for a safe and fruitful writers conference

To those who are going:
"Lord I continue to pray Your mighty hand of protection as they travel to and from the conference. Lord thank you for the opportunity that lies before them. May they see Your wonderment and gain more understanding about how their gifts will be honed and used in the days to come. Father let them grasp the one thing you have especially prepared for each of them. Lord we are each so different - yet You minister without fail individually to all of us at once, that is so amazi… Continue

The "Battle" belongs to the Lord

Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear;
for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
(NKJV 1 Samuel 17:47 )

The battle belongs to the Lord. Have you ever really thought about that? I mean really thought it through.
When David came to fight Goliath he came as David the shepherd not as David the warrior. David was but a teen and came to fight the giant as just a lowly shepherd boy that knew the Lord would fight his battle because… Continue

Language at Wal-Mart vs. Starbucks

If you know me at all, you know that I have this fascination with what is being done in the natural and how it mirrors the spiritual. Here is another example to demonstrate that.
I was sitting in the Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday. I am riding with my husband he is a service and salesman for a company that calls on independent meat markets, supermarkets and Wal-Marts. We were at a Spokane location and he had gone inside to do his job. That is how I ended up sitting there. I was prepared with lap… Continue

A thought about Martha and Mary and Me

Jesus Visits Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
41 But the Lord said to her… Continue

Thanks Jean for your comments regarding my son's Navy's graduation. As you well know, it is a different world - the military. May God continue to bless and keep our sons and all those serving our country.

Thank you Jean!! It's actually a pastel drawing I made last year. Somewhere in the back of my head I was processing Judges 19 with Christ's treatment of women in the new testament. Glad you like it and thanks so much for the feedback!! :-)

Good to be here. I will probably just cut-and-paste posts from my other blog, as I find myself short of time for opening up another one!

Thank-you for your comment on my blog. It lets me know somebody's paying attention, because I only write under the anointing. Otherwise, there's nothing for awhile, until The Lord stirs my spirit again. Looks like you have the same type of inspiration!

Ok, Mrs. Jean... there is something of the written sort now posted... I'll claim it if it is well received; if not I'm blaming you!

I've been in a bit of a writers block lately. Writing in the privacy of my own home is one thing, but when it comes to sharing it with others my nerves twist into knots and my mind goes blank. I'm not a very good speller and my writing is a bit different. Well some of it. I hope to become more bold in the future. dont give up on me!!

Welcome aboard, friend!! i didn't realize you had joined as I haven't been on here for a number of days. Great!! This has been a great blessing to many of us who write and haven't known what to do with it. Of course, I always get an opportunity to read mine to the old gals that come to my Bible Study in Buckley, and they have been a great encouragement to me. Love your story!! your'e good!! Give our love to Rod and tell him to keep singing -- we miss you guys!!

Whoa, I didn't know you were on here already. You mentioned it a little bit ago, but I applaud your quick action. And, being snowed in for four days, you probably have a little bit of time on your hands. ;)
