I really like this. Such a vivid picture of the inner struggle to quiet the distractions of the world to hear the voice that matters so much to our lives. It's overwhelming, yet when we tune in to his voice, peace and simplicity surround us. He gi...

Yes there is a lot of competition for our attention. Glad you were lured by the correct voice of the Father. I like how this started with visual distractions then noises, seems sometimes the visuals are almost as loud!

God's Voice

Newspaper Headlines
Magazine Covers
Billboards
Screaming sirens
Voices raised in anger
All compete for my attention.
Your still small voice beckons me
The still small voice of the Lord lures me
I remember and turn my face to the Son
In the midst of the noise I hear another voice
The voice of my Father
Inviting me to walk with Him in the secret place

God's Creation

The glory of God is reflected in every facet of His creation. Gray skies or blue, the dew of the early morning, the colors of the sunset. From the tightly closed bud of early spring to the fully disclosed leaf of Summer. The dust of Death Valley to the vast and endless oceans. The searing heat of the equatorial jungles to the blinding snow of the poles. The imagination our God.

Who is Like Our God?

Who is like our God?
Who can sae he has created a star or a tree or a blade of grass?
Who has created a life or given anyone a destiny?
Who can change something as simple as an attitude?
I have no desire, no hope of change apart from God.
I remember who I was…stubborn, rebellious, independent, impatient
Having left Egypt, my prison, but still my heart was bound
Physical distance brings no change of heart.
Wandering 12 years in the desert;
A husband, a child, divorce, nicotine, drink, sex, anothe… Continue

Deception

When I was a child, I learned to speak lies and deception. Todae, I love the truth, God's Truth. I want to KNOW God's Truth, and speak the Truth. Scripture tells me to 'set my mind on things above,' and '...whatsoever things are true,...just,...pure,...lovely,...of good report; if there be any virtue, and if the be any praise, think on these things. But when I feel unhappie or frustrated, or just 'having a bad dae,' that seems like a lie to me...counteracting my feelings. But the Bible doesn'e sa… Continue

Roadblocks

I set up my idols...desire to be more talented in an area, to have a different personality...and these idols are roadblocks on my journey with God. (On my journey through this life.) I stumble over them again and again. They must be destroyed. They are forbidden by my Father. They hinder my path, and God is sovereign and does not abide adultery or any attitude which indicates He made a mistake in creating me. Total trust is trust that causes me to understand He made me just the way He wanted me… Continue

Carol,

Thanks. If you're only going to read one of my De books, I encourage you to make it the first one: DeFOREST KELLEY: A HARVEST OF MEMORIES. The new one, ENDURING LEGACY, is mostly a compilation of other fans' memories of De. I wrote an introductory essay for most of the sections, but otherwise all I did was edit the fans' writings.

So if you're going to get just one, and ESPECIALLY if you're not a TREK fan, get the first one. It has very little about TREK in it, so you won't feel lost at any point. Lots of people have read it who aren't TREK fans and they loved it. Besides, you'll find out a lot about me that you've never known before... and that might be a good thing... or it might not! LOL!

The URL for the one I want you to get MOST is: http://www.authorhouse.com/BookStore/ItemDetail.aspx?bookid=7780. You can get it as an e-book too but I'm warning you, it's probably too long to enjoy as an ebook on your PC.

Hey, what am I saying? I have a copy! I'll bring it to the next W.E. class and people can take turns checking it out of the library. Then if you decide you simply must have it in your own library, or if you want to get one for a friend, you can order it at that time. How about that?

Thank You so much for taking the time to read my work. I know there are many grammatical errors and other areas need work. I appreciate the feedback and will have another story called "Lifeforms" next session if you would be interested in proofreading it. Thanks again for your time and honesty. Take care, Carol.

Hi Carol. Thanks for you comment on my first blog. How are you now? It meant alot to read what you had to say. I didn't feel quite so alone in my own issues. Thank you!
I am sorry that I took so long to respond.

I knew his voice and his love, I just wanted a answer from Him in my time of need. I also wanted a hug from Him to reassure me that He is still in control of my dilemma . I was desperate at the time as the article is saying.

Hi Carol. So good to have you in class and online at Writer's Edge. I hope you will find this a great way to get your writing out, and connect with fellow writers.

You can invite you brother too. =)

Blessings!
